MANILA - Senators Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada are not receiving any special treatment at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said Monday. Trillanes, who was detained for three years in Camp Crame, said there are schedules set for visitation three times a week. "Meron pong naka-schedule diyan na visitation period, normally 3 times a week... Basta minsan, hanggang alas-tres lang, minsan hanggang alas-singko, tapos tuwing Biyernes merong conjugal visit na tinatawag," he said in an interview on radio DZMM. The senator said it is normal for guests to overstay at the PNP Custodial Center during special occasions such as Christmas Day. "Normally, if you exceed visiting hours, sinusundo yan ng custodians," he said. However, he also questioned reports that some guests stay until the wee hours of the morning. "Kung medyo umabot ng madaling araw, ibang usapan ho iyon. Pero kung ganyang araw ng visitation, regular po 'yan," he said. Trillanes emphasized that Estrada and Revilla are not threats to national security. He said the purpose of jails and detention cells is to make sure that the accused will be able to attend hearings. The senator also pointed out that Estrada and Revilla are accused parties that must be granted all their rights. "Itong sina Sen. Jinggoy at Sen. Bong, hindi naman sila necessarily threat to national security...mga akusado palang yan, hindi pa mga convicted yan, kaya dapat ang kanilang karapatan ay buong-buo pa." Trillanes is pushing for the passage of Senate Bill No. 793 or the Jail Integration bill which proposes for an integrated prison and jail system that provides professionalism in the rehabilitation and treatment of prisoners.
