Michigan to Prohibit Selling of Flavored E-Cigarettes.
It is the first U.S. state to pass
a measure of this kind.
The ban starts immediately but must be renewed early next year.
The measure expands on a current ban in Michigan, prohibiting sales to underage consumers.
Under the ban, flavored e-cigarette products are not allowed to be sold in retail spots or online.
State businesses have
one month to follow the rule.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says
the ban is meant to protect younger people.
She has even declared a
public health emergency in the
state over rampant underage use.
