한미 북핵수석대표 전화협의…이도훈 본부장 내주 방미 검토
U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, held phone talks this morning with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Do-hoon.
Seoul's foreign ministry says the two discussed practical ways to achieve complete denuclearization and permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula... while agreeing to meet for further discussions in the near future.
Lee Do-hoon is reportedly planning to visit Washington next week for talks with Biegun.
As their phone conversation came soon after North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choi Son-hui expressed willingness to resume talks, it's widely believed that their main focus was to set the stage for possible Pyeongyang-Washington nuclear talks.
