What Is The History Behind The Celebration Of Onam Festival Onam is considered to be the most popular festival of Kerala, where people of all ages participate with equal joy and excitement. Onam is celebrated in the month of August or September, depending upon the Malayalam Calendar, also known as the Kolla Varsham. It is celebrated during the Chingam month of the Kolla Varsham. The Onamcarnival lasts from four to ten days, and within these few days, the people of Kerala bring the culture, tradition, and rituals together in the best possible form.

ಕೇರಳದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಬ್ಬವಾಗಿರುವ ಓಣಂ ಅನ್ನು ಕೇರಳದ ಜನತೆ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬರಿಯ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸದೇ ಇಡಿಯ ನಾಡೇ ಓಣಂಗಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳು, ಪೂಕಳಂ, ಬೋಟ್ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆ, ಓಣಂ ಸದ್ಯಂ, ಓಣಂ ನ್ಯತ್ಯ ಹೀಗೆ ಒಣಂನ ಹತ್ತು ದಿನ ಕೂಡ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 10 ರಿಂದ 13ರವರೆಗೆ ಓಣಂ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, 11ರಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದ ದಿನ ತಿರು ಓಣಂ ಅನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
