Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has given up trying to re-establish contact with its lunar lander named Vikram, which was a part of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. ISRO lost contact with the lander in the final minutes before it touched down on the surface of the moon. ISRO had 14 days to try to re-establish contact, because after that night would descend on that area of the moon, rendering the solar panels of the lander redundant.
