The government has offered landowners in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur an average of RM6mil in compensation to acquire their land.
Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad told a townhall attended by the landowners and heirs that the offer made was RM850 per square foot and the government had gone with the highest price proposed by the Valuation and Property Services Department.
Most of the land there are about 7,000 to 8,000sq ft.
