Jodie Comer Wins Outstanding
Lead Actress at 2019 Emmy Awards Comer won for her portrayal
of a Russian assassin, Villanelle,
in the BBC America drama series, 'Killing Eve.' This was Comer's first
Emmy nomination. In winning the lead actress
in a drama Emmy, she beat
out her co-star, actress Sandra Oh. She also won over 'Game of Thrones'
star Emilia Clarke, Viola Davis, Mandy
Moore, Robin Wright and Laura Linney. Comer's win is for the
second season of 'Killing Eve.' The series was also nominated
for outstanding drama series,
clinched this year by HBO's
'Game of Thrones.' 'Killing Eve' has been
renewed for a third season.
