The journey to becoming a beauty pageant finalist in the 2019 Binibining Pilipinas was not an easy one for Jessarie Dumaguing.  When she was four years old, Dumaguing went to live with her aunt after her parents separated and by age 11 she was working as a domestic helper to help make ends meet.  At 24, she would travel from her hometown in the island province of Palawan to the Philippine capital Manila in a bid to become the next Miss Philippines and lift herself out of poverty.
