Ava Michelle is on Hollywire’s BEHIND THE FAME podcast!! In case you haven’t heard or seen… Ava is the star of Netflix’s “Tall Girl” alongside Sabrina Carpenter. On this episode of BEHIND THE FAME, Jana Rosenberg and Tony Moras quite literally talk about everything that has gone on in Ava’s life behind her time in the limelight. Ava has been inside the entertainment world since a very young age when she signed on to “Dance Moms” alongside dance industry powerhouse Abby Lee Miller. Ava is 6’1’’and while she discusses that her height has always effected her mentally, it never effected her ability to be one of the best dancers we’ve seen on network television. Once Ava landed the role in “Tall Girl”, she realized she had the ability to help other people overcome insecurities they’ve dealt with their whole lives, whether it’s being extra tall, extra short or anything in between. Ava also talks about working with mega-star Sabrina Carpenter. She talks about how real and down to the earth the singer/actress is and that working alongside Sabrina made the whole experience a lot easier for her. Ava is truly a star on the inside and out. Ava Michelle, also known as Ava Michelle Cota, is a dancer, actress, and model from Fenton, Michigan. She was a dance student at JC’s Broadway Dance Academy which was owned by her mother. She is trained in contemporary, ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap dance. Cota had a recurring role in seasons 4-6 the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms (2014-2017). She also appeared on So You Think You Can Dance Next Generation. On the show, she opens up about being bullied due to her height. Since, Cota had landed roles in different short films which lead to her breakout role in the 2019 Netflix family comedy Tall Girl. The film centers around a high school student who learns to love herself over the thing she is most insecure about. Ava is an advocate for self love– she consistently opens up about her past struggles with bullying, and uses her personal experiences to help others.
