Los Angeles County Issues Ban
on Flavored Tobacco Products.
On Oct. 2, Los Angeles County’s Board of
Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt
a ban on all flavored tobacco products. .
The ban includes e-cigarettes, menthol
cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
Retailers in the county now have 180 days
to clear their shelves of the products
and apply for updated licenses. .
Online sales of the products will
reportedly not be prohibited.
The Board’s decision adds Los Angeles
to the list of localities banning the flavored
products, which includes states such as
New York, Michigan and Massachusetts. .
Their decisions were all motivated by the rising
health crisis surrounding vaping, which has already
been linked to 14 deaths in the United States
