Almost 80% of complaints against the Customs Department are related to corruption resulting in negative public perception towards its officers says Datuk Seri Paddy Abd Halim.
The Customs director-general said that when launching the Customs Combats Bribery Campaign on Friday, adding that there were statistics showing the number of complaints against the department which ranges from being rude to absent from work.
Paddy said of the total number of complaints, almost 80% are complaining of officers involved in corruption and receiving bribes.
