Police have detained two DAP assemblypersons over their alleged connections with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
The two are Malacca exco member G Saminathan and Seremban Jaya assemblyperson P Gunasekaran. It is believed the pair were detained this morning.
Sources have confirmed with Malaysiakini that both were held under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) which allows for 28 days of detention.
Meanwhile, police said they are expecting to arrest more supporters of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the country, and warned that there will be no compromise on anyone who poses a security threat.
Special Branch's Counter-Terrorism Division chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said this during a press conference at the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters today, where he announced that anti-terror operatives have nabbed a total of seven suspects linked to LTTE during an operation in six states between 9am and 2pm.
