Kaziranga National Park reopened for Tourists after Routine Closure

Kaziranga National Park (KNP) was reopened for tourists from today, after its routine closure for the monsoon season.
On Friday, in a notification the divisional forest officer directed to reopen Kaziranga National Park for the year 2019-2020. However due to inclement weather road condition inside the national Park, only Jeep Safari at kaziranga range, Kohora and Western range Bagori would be open for tourist.
The Jeep Safari in kaziranga range, Kohora will be open to Vaisamari and in Bagori it is up to Dunga watchtower and Bimali Tiniali until further orders. The date of opening of eastern range Agaratali, Burapahar and Ghurakathi and elephant ride in kaziranga national Park will be notified in due course of time.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal while visiting the National Park on the day of the reopening had urged the forest department and local people in the region to make ‘Kaziranga’ a plastic free and pollution free zone.
