Water was seen gushing through the Shiroyama Dam in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, as Typhoon Hagibis hit the country on Saturday (October 12).
The video was filmed in the early hours of the morning, hours before the operators of seven dams across Japan decided to discharge water due to the risk of them overflowing.
Typhoon Hagibis brought heavy rain which caused mass flooding around the country. It was the worst storm to hit the country in decades, leaving at least 37 dead and 20 missing.
Winds of up to 225km/h (140mph) slammed into eight prefectures around the country.
