Leading private sector bank HDFC Wednesday issued a clarification with reference to an image of a passbook bearing a stamp of deposit insurance cover being circulated on social media that seems to have caused concern among customers. The image doing the rounds of social media shows an HDFC passbook with a stamp saying deposits in the bank up to Rs 1 lakh is insured.

ప్రముఖ ప్రైవేటు రంగ బ్యాంకు హెచ్‌డిఎఫ్‌సి బుధవారం ఒక ప్రకటనను జారీ చేసింది.పాస్‌బుక్ యొక్క డిపాజిట్ ఇన్సూరెన్స్ కవర్ యొక్క స్టాంప్‌ ఉన్న ఫోటో సామజిక మాధ్యమాల్లో విపరీతంగా చక్కర్లు కొట్టింది.ఇది వినియోగ దారుల్లో ఆందోళన కలిగించింది.ఇంతకీ ఆ స్టాంప్ లో ఏముందంటే,బ్యాంక్ డిపాజిట్లు అన్ని Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC)తో భీమా చేఇంచ బడ్డాయి,ఒకవేల ఏదైనా సమస్య వస్తే...ఆ ఖాతా దారుల సొమ్మును DICGC చెల్లిస్తుంది.ఒక లక్ష వరకు డిపాజిట్ ఉంటే అది క్లెయిమ్ చేసిన 2 నెల్లల్లో ఖాతా దారులకు భీమా సొమ్ము అందించబడుతుంది' అని ఆ స్టాంప్ లో రాసి ఉంది.ఈ ప్రకటనతో HDFC బ్యాంకు లో ఎం జరుగుతుందో అని ఖాతాదారులు ఒక్కసారిగా ఆందోళనకు గురయ్యారు.అయితే ఈ విషయం పైన స్పందించిన HDFC యాజమాన్యం...ఈ నిబంధన ఇప్పటిది కాదని, జూన్ 22, 2017 ఆర్‌బిఐ సర్క్యులర్ లోనిది అని స్పష్టం చేసారు.
