Riverbed on Yangtze River tributary exposed as drought lingers in China’s Jiangxi

The riverbed on one of the Yangtze River’s major tributaries in east China’s Jiangxi province has been exposed due to drought. Water levels in the Gan River dropped below the 12-metre low-water mark in October.  Jiangxi has been suffering from drought since July this year. Water levels at more than 30 hydrological stations in the region have dropped to record lows, state media reported.
