Since the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a loss of more than ten thousand crores of business in the valley during the last three months due to various restrictions imposed there. On 5 August 2019, the central government neutralized most of the provisions of section 370 applicable in Jammu and Kashmir. After that, a number of restrictions were imposed in the state in terms of security. Due to these restrictions, the main markets remained closed for most of the time and public transport was also absent from the roads.

जम्मू-कश्मीर से अनुच्छेद 370 हटाए जाने के बाद से वहां लगाई गई विभिन्न पाबंदियों के चलते पिछले तीन महीने के दौरान घाटी में दस हजार करोड़ से ज्यादा के कारोबार का नुकसान हुआ है। केन्द्र सरकार ने पांच अगस्त 2019 को जम्मू कश्मीर में लागू धारा 370 के ज्यादातर प्रावधानों को निष्प्रभावी कर दिया. उसके बाद सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से राज्य में कई तरह की पाबंदियां लगाई गईं. इन पाबंदियों के चलते मुख्य बाजार ज्यादातर समय बंद रहे और सार्वजनिक परिवहन भी सड़कों से नदारद रहा.
