The Pentagon has confirmed that South Korea and the U.S. are proceeding with their joint wintertime exercise as planned.
In an email to Voice of America on Monday...., Pentagon Spokesman Dave Eastburn said,... the two sides are proceeding with the "Combined Flying Training Event" as scheduled.
He didn't elaborate on whether the allies are still going ahead with the wintertime "==" air exercise... that usually takes place around December.
South Korean media had widely reported that the two sides are looking at postponing or scaling down that exercise to try revive dialogue with North Korea.
Seoul's defense ministry said,... it's working closely with the U.S. to finalize plans for it.
The exercise was postponed last year to avoid provoking North Korea.
