This is the moment hundreds of hermit crabs were seen scurrying along a beach.

The crustaceans appeared after the sea level decreased in Chonburi, Thailand on October 15 afternoon.

A resident from the nearby community who filmed the video said that there were even more crabs in the water.

He said: "This normally happens when the water recedes. There will be a lot of hermit crabs suddenly appear and it's quite an amazing view."
