Faced with the socio-political crisis facing Bolivia, the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, said Tuesday (November 12) he will not yet issue a position on the events that led the president, Evo Morales, to file his resignation. "We will exercise some caution in not launching an official statement from the government of El Salvador even on the issue of Bolivia."

He called on the Bolivian people to peace, tranquility, calm and tell them that they have the Salvadoran people for whatever they need.

This footage shows Evo Morales attending an event in El Salvador on June 1, 2019, as a special guest at the inauguration of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele.

Recently, the Bukele government broke off diplomatic relations with the government of Nicolás Maduro and ordered the expulsion from the country of Venezuelan diplomatic representatives appointed by the government of Nicolás Maduro, arguing that the decision relates to their position of not recognizing "legitimacy " of the president.
