The Supreme Court allowed the disqualified rebel MLAs of Karnataka to contest in the upcoming by-polls on December 05. The court, while upholding the disqualification, struck down the time limit imposed by the then speaker, which would have lasted till the end of the term. Speaking on the Supreme Court’s decision, Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa said that he welcomed the decision of Court. He said, “I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court which has given the verdict that all 17 MLAs can contest by-elections. Tomorrow onwards, we are going to go to all assembly constituencies. We are going to win all the 17 seats 101%.” On being asked on ‘are all the 17 MLAs joining BJP, Yediyurappa said, “Just wait till evening.
