Dozens of French police were seen riding motorbikes towards a 'gilet jaune' (yellow vest) protest in Paris on Saturday.
The protest in the distance was wreathed in clouds of smoke, from fires lit by protesters, and/or tear gas, fired by police.
The protests, which appeared in at least two different locations in the French capital today, originally began a year ago.
Initially, the protests were a reaction to planned fuel price increases, but quickly widened into a movement against President Emmanuel Macron and involved both the far-right and far-left.
