Uber Will Audio-Record US Rides
in Response to Safety Concerns.
The new feature is set
for a pilot test next month in
unspecified Latin American cities.
When the trip ends, the user will be asked if everything is okay and be able to report a safety incident and submit the audio recording to Uber with a few taps, Email From Uber Executive, via 'The Washington Post'.

According to Uber's head of
safety products, the feature will
help provide a sense that "the lights are
on" for "both parties" during an Uber trip.
Privacy experts have
raised concerns over a feature
that could be used to record
individuals without their consent.
