Stunning footage from northern China shows ice and snow covering trees and the ground on both sides of the lake at Benxi Shuidong Scenic Area in the city of Benxi in Liaoning Province on December 27.

It is called the "Hard Rime" phenomenon and occurs when ice forms on the outer surfaces of objects such as trees when water droplets freeze in the cold fog.
