The story of growing tension between the US and Iran is not new. Both countries have been enemies of each other for years. In 1979, diplomats and civilians from the US Embassy in Tehran were taken hostage. The US launched 'Operation Eagle Claw' to free those hostages. After this operation the relationship between the two countries reached a bad phase.
