Hundreds of migrating herons perch on trees after arriving in warmer climates in northern Thailand yesterday (Jan 9) morning.

The flock of egrets flew from Europe and its chilly winter temperatures to Phayao province where it was 28C today.

Residents were impressed by the beautiful birds as they assembled on the large trees, where they will be roosting until Spring.
