Shivangini Gohain, the 12-year-old archer who was accidentally pierced by an arrow while practicing at a Sports Authority of India centre (SAI) in Dibrugarh has been shifted to the ICU after a complicated surgery at the AIIMS Trauma Centre here.A team of senior doctors planned the procedure overnight, and the surgery, that began at six in the morning, went on for four hours. It involved removing the arrow that had pierced through the right side of Gohain’s neck.

असम के गुवाहाटी में 10 जनवरी 2020 से खेलो इंडिया गेम्स शुरू हुए हैं। हालांकि, इन खेलों के शुरू होने से पहले गुरुवार को ही एक हादसा हो गया। हादसे में 12 साल की तीरंदाज शिवांगिनी गोहेन घायल हो गईं। हादसा उनके घर के पास डिब्रूगढ़ के छाबुआ स्थित भारतीय खेल प्राधिकारण के ट्रेनिंग सेंटर में हुआ। छाबुआ गुवाहाटी से 450 किलोमीटर दूर है। शिवांगिनी अभ्यास सत्र में हिस्सा ले रही थीं, तभी किसी साथी खिलाड़ी का तीर उनके कंधे से होता हुआ गले में घुस गया। शिवांगिनी को दिल्ली स्थित अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान रेफर किया गया है।
