A critically-ill coronavirus patient was saved by the ECMO technique which is also known as extracorporeal life support at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University on January 21, according to state media.

In the video, medics put an artificial lung device outside the patient's body to help ease his blood pressure and heartbeat back to normal and let his own lung have sufficient treatment and rest.

The patient who is in his 50s is not in life-threatening conditions anymore and he is recovering.
