A woman used a remote control car to buy steamed buns in a shop amid the coronavirus outbreak in eastern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Jinan in Shandong Province on February 2, shows a remote-controlled car with two cameras being driven to collect several steamed buns from a nearby shop for its owner Chen Tao.

Chen can be heard speaking to her community's security guard through a loudspeaker on the car: "Can you please help me call the shop owner?"

The security said: "I will fill the box up ok? I put them (steamed buns) at the back."

After that, Chen drove the remote car back home.

According to Chen, she is a car enthusiast and she modified the controller for the car by herself, which made it able to control the car from up to 800 metres away.

The shop she got the steamed buns is around 400 metres away from her apartment, she used her phone to control the cameras.

Since she wrote her phone number on the car, the shop owner added her to get paid via phone.
