Pope John Paul II suffered a slight faint before the baptismal mass that I celebrate in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican although he recovered immediately according to sources of the Holy See. The fading occurred just before accessing the Sistine chapel upon reaching the entrance when the pontiff and leaned on his cane. The Pope recovered after staying a few moments on the shoulder of Monsignor Franco Marile and almost immediately entering the chapel where he administered the sacrament of baptism to 19 children.
