Coolum Beach in Queensland was closed due to "unusually high tide and rough waves" that are believed to be caused by the incoming Cyclone Uesi.

Footage captured today shows waves crashing against beach rocks with sea foam forming.

The filmer explained: "I took the video because of the unusually high tide and rough waves which I believe is caused by Cyclone Uesi, which was off the east coast of Australia.

"Coolum's main beach was closed due to dangerous conditions."
