Twelve pensioners trapped in a faulty lift have been saved when they were on the way home from a university party.
The group was returning home after attending a ball at a university hall at late night of February 25, in Chachoengsao, eastern Thailand.
But the elevator shuttered and became stuck on the fifth floor. They called for help but with the air levels dropping, after 20 minutes the elderly residents started to panic
University staff went to the scene and helped to prise open the door so that the pensioners could climb out one-by-one.
One of the passengers said it had no warning sign when all of them stepped into the lift.
She said: "We thought it would be fine to go down with all of us, but it was unfortunately stuck."
All twelve guests were safe and went back home that night after they had thanked the staff who rescued them.
