Rang Panchami is considered a form of Holi. This festival is celebrated on the Krishna Panchami date of the month of Chaitra. The date which falls on 13 March this time. Actually Holi celebrations last for several days. Which starts with Chaitra Krishna Pratipada and ends on Panchami Tithi. It is also known as Rang Panchami. Rang Panchami is an important festival in the Konkan region. It is believed about this festival that on this day, the colors are applied to each other and are blown into the wind, the gods are attracted and give their blessings.

ये पर्व चैत्र मास की कृष्ण पंचमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है। जो तिथि इस बार 13 मार्च को पड़ रही है। दरअसल होली का जश्न कई दिनों तक चलता है। जिसकी शुरुआत चैत्र कृष्ण प्रतिपदा से हो जाती है और इसका समापन पंचमी तिथि को होता है। इसे ही रंग पंचमी के नाम से जाना जाता है। रंग पंचमी कोकण क्षेत्र का एक महत्वपूर्ण पर्व है। इस पर्व को लेकर मान्यता है कि इस दिन जो रंग एक दूसरे को लगाए जाते हैं और हवा में उड़ाये जाते हैं उन्हें देखकर देवता आकर्षित होते हैं और अपना आशीर्वाद देते हैं।
