Corona outbreaks can only be eradicated by developing vaccines. Research is underway in many countries including China, USA for the development of vaccines. Efforts are underway in India also. Even before, on the basis of effective vaccines, India became smallpox and polio free. In addition, many infectious diseases have been controlled. Therefore vaccines have proved to be a boon in life-saving from deadly diseases but it may take a year to a year and a half to develop a corona vaccine. When we talk about vaccine development, it means two things. The first influenza-like vaccine that already exists, yet a new vaccine has to be prepared every year.

कोरोना के प्रकोप को टीका विकसित करके ही खत्म किया जा सकता है। टीके के विकास के लिए चीन, अमेरिका सहित कई देशों में शोध चल रहे हैं। भारत में भी इसके लिए प्रयास चल रहा है। पहले भी असरदार टीकों के दम पर ही भारत चेचक व पोलियो मुक्त हुआ। इसके अलावा कई संक्रामक बीमारियों पर अंकुश लगा है। इसलिए टीके घातक बीमारियों से जीवनरक्षा में वरदान साबित हुए हैं लेकिन कोरोना का टीका विकसित होने में एक साल से डेढ़ साल समय लग सकता है। जब हम टीके के विकास की बात करते हैं तो उसका मतलब दो चीजें होती हैं। पहला इनफ्लुएंजा जैसी बीमारी के टीके जो पहले से मौजूद है फिर भी हर साल नया टीका तैयार करना पड़ता है।
