In Manila's slum areas children swim and play in polluted water, and homes in these shanty towns are tightly-packed, small spaces that are only big enough for sleeping, and lack running water. There are no surgical masks or hand sanitizers and self-isolation from the threat of the new coronavirus is all but impossible.
