As South Korea readies itself for the new school year... which starts online next week,... the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Cho Hee-yeon says the city will be lending laptops or other devices to 80-thousand students in the capital.
Distribution will begin with high school and middle school seniors as they will be the first to start online classes from next Thursday.
50-thousand of the students are in the low-income bracket.
The education office also announced it will spend 1-point-2 million U.S. dollars to set up Wi-Fi in over one thousand school classrooms.
