Members of the Muslim community helped in performing the last rites of their 68-year-old Hindu neighbour here in suburban Bandra after the latter’s relatives could not reach his place due to the lockdown. The Muslim neighbours carried the body of Premchandra Buddhalal Mahavir, a resident of Gareeb Nagar locality of Bandra, on their shoulders to the cremation ground while chanting ‘Ram naam satya hai‘.

मृतक बुजुर्ग के परिवार का कोई नहीं था. बुजुर्ग का एक बेटा है पर उसे अपने रीति रिवाजों की जानकारी नहीं थी और दूसरे भाई-बहन लॉकडाउन में मुबंई से बाहर फंसे हैं, जहाँ से वो आ नही सकते थे. इसलिए उनके पीछे में बुजुर्ग के अंतिम संस्कार का बीड़ा मुसलमानों ने उठाया.
