Addressing an election rally in Assam's Golaghat, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi promised to restore the special category status of northeastern states and bring industrial policy for the region. Taking a dig at BJP’s chowkidar campaign, he said if you say chowkidar in front of a person at a shop, he will say ‘chor hai’. “If you say chowkidar to an unemployed man, he will say chor hai,” Congress president added.
