The government will keep some places under lockdown due to the “very lethal” coronavirus threat but will begin gradually easing quarantine restrictions in other areas, President Duterte announced Tuesday.

The President said health precautions, such as mandatory wearing of face masks and physical distancing rule, will stay in place, warning that the country cannot afford a “second or third wave” of the deadly infections.
