KLPGA 챔피언십 개막…"전 세계가 함께 본다"

Women's golf in South Korea joins Korea's professional baseball and soccer leagues, which have already restarted in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
With masks, hand sanitizers, and temperature checks in place, the KLPGA Championship got underway becoming the first tour in the world to get back into action after the COVID-19 shutdown.

Professional golf has resumed in South Korea and is in the spotlight.
The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association Championship started up again this Thursday and almost 80 media outlets came to report on the first tournament.
It is being shown all over the world including in the U.S., Japan and Indonesia.
As there is a risk of more COVID-19 cases in the country, officials from the KLPGA have adopted strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
Players must have their temperature checked and should wear face masks before and after playing.
And they can no longer high-five the crowd or hear their cheers as there aren't any spectators.
"Since there were no fans in the gallery, it was more like a practice game."
Not only the players, but everyone involved, including reporters, has to fill out COVID-19 screening questions and get their temperatures checked.
"Anyone recording over 37 degrees Celsius will be moved to the screening center... and those with over 37-point-five degrees will be transferred to a hospital.
If successful, the KLPGA's efforts can provide a roadmap on how to host golf tournaments amid the risk of COVID-19.
