Residents were evacuated today (May 15) as Typhoon Ambo continued battering the Philippines with strong wind and rain.
Footage shows the downpours this morning in Macalelon, Quezon province, where people were given food and shelter in the regions's town hall.
Typhoon Ambo, with international name Vongfong, is the first typhoon to hit the country this year in the midst of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The typhoon made landfall yesterday at lunchtime (May 14) over Eastern Samar province at 12:15 p.m, bringing gusts of wind up to 112mph.
