Huawei says the latest round of U.S. sanctions threaten its own business and the entire global industries.
Speaking at this year's virtual Huawei Analyst Summit,... the Chinese company said the U.S. was shooting itself in the foot with the sanctions.
"The U.S. is leveraging its own technological strengths in an attempt to crush companies outside its own borders. This will only serve to undermine the trust that international companies place in U.S. technology and U.S. supply chains. Ultimately we believe that this will harm U.S. interests."
Huawei added that the decision is arbitrary and harmful.
The response comes as the Trump administration imposed new restrictions on the Chinese tech giant last week.
They severely limit Huawei's ability to use U.S. technology to design and manufacture chips for its devices.
U.S. intelligence agencies say the sanctions are needed as the Chinese government could use Huawei to spy.
