1674km of rural roads under Pradhanmatri Gram Sadak Yojana to use Coir based Geo Textiles. Geo Textile improves road quality & road life by atleast 15 years.
The central government is embarking on a new experiment in the construction of roads in rural areas. Prime Minister Sadak Yojana's roads in rural areas across the country are to be built with coir geotextile technology. This new policy doesn't harm to the environment. The decision was made because of the low cost and long lasting roads.

కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాలలో నిర్మించే రోడ్ల విషయంలో ఒక కొత్త ప్రయోగానికి శ్రీకారం చుట్టింది. దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ప్రధానమంత్రి సడక్‌ యోజన రోడ్లలో జౌళి, కొబ్బరిపీచు తో నిర్మించాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది. ఈ కొత్త విధానంలో పర్యావరణానికి ఎలాంటి హాని కలగదు. అంతేకాకుండా తక్కువ వ్యయంతో, ఎక్కువ కాలం బాగుండే రోడ్ల నిర్మాణం చెయ్యొచ్చని అందుకే ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్టు పేర్కొంది. జౌళి, కొబ్బరిపీచును ఉపయోగించి కాయిర్‌ జియో టెక్స్‌టైల్స్‌ ద్వారా నిర్మాణం చేస్తామని ఒక ప్రకటన చేసింది కేంద్రం .ఇక ఈ విధానంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో 164 కిలోమీటర్లు, తెలంగాణలో 121 కి.మీ లు నిర్మాణం చేపట్టనున్నారు.
