Japan’s economy gets US$1.1 trillion stimulus after coronavirus state of emergency ends

After lifting states of emergency in the last five regions of Japan, the world’s third-largest economy is now focused on trying to stop the coronavirus pandemic from pushing the nation deeper into recession. As part of those efforts, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s cabinet approved a new US$1.1 trillion stimulus package on May 27, 2020.
