Much of the United States has erupted into protests over racial inequality and police brutality.
United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has called on U.S. leaders and authorities to listen to protestors and show restraint.
According to Reuters, Guterres has also urged protestors to do so peacefully.
The wave of U.S. protests was ignited by the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, at the hands of Minneapolis police.
46-year-old George Floyd was pinned to the ground by former Officer Derek Chauvin.
Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, as Floyd pleaded, saying "I can't breathe".
Derek Chauvin has been arrested and charged with third-degree murder.
