A stray dog that lost two feet in a suspected trap set up by cruel locals is now recovering in its new home after it was rescued by a Good Samaritan.
Xu Wenliang from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, noticed the shivering pooch hobbling around the streets. He gave the terrified dog some food and water to befriend it before the rescue on June 1.
Xu said: "I could see that the dog had difficulty walking. Then I asked around and found out that it was injured from a trap set up by some people in my neighbourhood. I am willing to adopt him and take good care of him."
The dog lover said the Apsin mixed-breed dog has been nicknamed 'Hero'. He said that the trap which injured 'Hero' was set by cruel residents because they think stray dogs are a problem in the neighbourhood.
