ormer Prime Minister and JD(S)' chief HD Deve Gowda, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and BJP leaders Ashok Gasti and Irana Kadadi were on Friday elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. "Gowda, Kharge, Gasti and Kadadi have been duly elected to fill the seats in the Upper House in place of Kupendra Reddy of JDS, BK Hariprasad and Rajeev Gowda of the Congress, and Prabhakar Kore of the BJP, who are retiring on June 25 on the expiration of their term of office," returning officer MK Vishalakshi said in a statement.

कर्नाटक में राज्यसभा चुनाव की नौबत नहीं आई। चुनाव से पहले चारों प्रत्याशी निर्विरोध चुन लिए गए। जेडीएस प्रमुख और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री एच डी देवेगौड़ा, कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे, बीजेपी के एरन्ना कडाडी और अशोक गस्ती सांसद चुने गए। देश भर में 19 जून को चुनाव होना था। लेकिन कर्नाटक में चार सीट पर चार प्रत्याशी ही मैदान में थे।
