In the elections held in 19 Rajya Sabha seats in eight states, BJP has gained an edge, despite all efforts, the Congress had to be patient for only 4 seats. BJP got 3 seats in Gujarat, 2 seats in Madhya Pradesh and one seat each in Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Manipur.
