An explosion and fire rocked the Astron Energy refinery in Cape Town, South Africa in the early hours of Thursday (July 2), killing at least two people.

Astron Energy confirms there was an incident and that the fire has been extinguished.

Aftermath footage shows the damage caused and rescue teams at the scene.

Astron Energy is South Africa’s third-biggest crude oil refinery.
