트럼프 "미중 2단계 무역합의 생각안해"
President Donald Trump claims the COVID-19 pandemic has severely damaged Washington-Beijing ties, and that he's not thinking about a possible next stage of the bilateral trade deal.
The commander-in-chief told reporters China didn't do enough to stop the virus spreading in the early stages.
Trump went on to point out he's not even thinking about "phase two" of the bilateral trade deal.
While officials in his administration assured both sides are still expected to honor the first phase of the pact, the president said he is torn about whether to scrap it.
Phase one of the deal followed a protracted trade war with China.
The agreement took initial steps toward addressing issues including intellectual property protections and forced technology transfers, with Beijing set to buy at least 200 billion dollars worth of American goods over two years.
